A 6-year-old girl allegedly died after she fell into a pit dug up for the installation of a lift at an under-construction site in Sultanpet on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Maheshwari. Her parents were employed as laborers at the construction site and they resided there.
According to police, the pit had been dug up late Friday night and was filled with water.
Though Maheshwari’s parents looked for her all over the place they could not trace her. They found her body the next morning when it surfaced in the water-filled pit.
KR police visited the spot and began an investigation. It is gathered that safety measures were being overlooked at the construction site.
