Manipal: Two thieves arrested; Goods worth Rs 4 lakh seized

Manipal: Police officials on Thursday arrested two thieves and confiscated goods worth Rs 4 lakh in Manipal.

The arrested accused have been identified as Varuna (19) of Adarsh ​​Nagar and Karthika Pujari (19) of Nehru Nagar, Moodu Alevoor.

On February 18-19, they broke into a house in Nehru Nagar, Shivalli village, Udupi, and made away with gold jewellery worth Rs 2,40,000. A case was filed at the Manipal Police Station.

The accused had previously been involved in three cases, two of which were under the jurisdiction of the Kundapur police station. Three cases were solved, and the accused’s assets totaled around Rs 4 lakh.
