Ullal: In a shocking incident, a group stabbed a man in front of his residence late at night on March 3.

The victim, identified as Sadakatullah (34), a resident of Kotepur, was grievously injured and has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

It has been learned that Chhabbi alias Kabir and Razik along with two others have committed the crime. Police are still searching for the two.

The accused reportedly asked the victim to come out of the house on a pretext and stabbed him in the stomach with a knife. Victim’s family immediately rushed him to the hospital.

Friday’s attack is suspected to be an act of revenge for an old crime. It is learnt that there was a dispute between the victim and the accused regarding a financial matter. A few months ago, a team, in which Sadakatullah was involved, had attacked one of the accused in connection with the same issue. A case about this was filed at Ullal police station. The latest attack may have been carried out in retaliation.

MLA UT Khader visits hospital

Around 1 am, MLA UT Khader visited the hospital and inquired about the health condition of the victim. He also directed the police to arrest and punish the culprits.
