Kapu: School girl critically injured after being hit by private express bus

Kapu: In a tragic incident that occurred on Saturday morning, a schoolgirl was seriously injured after being knocked down by a private express bus in Kapu. The victim has been identified as Varshita Sherwegara, a 13-year-old student of Kapu Mahadevi High School.
According to the sources, Varshita was on her way to school when she stopped to cross the road near Mandara Hotel on National Highway 66. The express bus traveling from Udupi towards Mangaluru hit her resulting in a serious head injury.
The injured girl was immediately taken to the Udupi district hospital for treatment. Her condition is said to be critical.
Upon receiving the news, the Kapu police immediately rushed to the spot and seized the private bus. Further investigations are underway.
