Davanagere: In a shocking incident, two men, who were accused in the murder case of notorious rowdy sheeter Handi Anni in Shivamogga, were hacked to death in broad daylight near Chilur-Govinakovi in Davanagere district on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Anjani (30) and Madhu (28), both residents of Bhanuvalli in Harihara taluk.

Anjani and Madhu were released on bail a few days ago. On Wednesday, they were travelling on a bike with another person near Chilur-Govinakovi when they were intercepted by another group of rowdies in a Scorpio. The miscreants attacked Anjani and Madhu with lethal weapons, leading to their deaths.

Another person who was traveling with them was also seriously injured in the attack.

The miscreants abandoned the Scorpio at the spot and fled. Nyamati police visited the site to conduct an inspection.
