Shivalinge Gowda and N Y Gopalakrishna to join Congress today

Bengaluru: Shivalinge Gowda of JDS and N Y Gopalakrishna of BJP are all set to join the Congress party on Monday. This comes after both leaders submitted their resignations from their respective MLA seats in the state.

Sources close to the development confirmed that Shivalinge Gowda and N Y Gopalakrishna will formally join the Congress party on Monday afternoon in the presence of State in-charge Randeep Surjewala, Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah, and KPCC President DK Shivakumar.

It is expected that both leaders will be welcomed into the party with their supporters.

Moreover, the Congress’ Central Election Committee meeting is scheduled to take place in Delhi on Tuesday, where the second list of candidates for the State Assembly elections will be finalized. According to sources, the names of Shivalinge Gowda, N Y Gopalakrishna, and former JDS leader Gubbi Srinivas (S R Srinivas alias Vasu), who recently resigned as an MLA and joined the Congress, are expected to feature on the second list.
