Halady Srinivas Shetty, five-time MLA from Kundapura, announces decision to step back from assembly elections

Kundapura: Halady Srinivas Shetty, the BJP MLA from Kundapura constituency, has announced that he will not be contesting the upcoming assembly elections. Shetty, who has been elected as an MLA for five consecutive terms, four times from the BJP and once as an independent, cited personal reasons for his decision.
In a press release issued on Monday, Shetty expressed his gratitude to the people of Kundapura for choosing him with great expectations and for their support during his tenure. He mentioned that he fought for social justice and discharged his responsibilities with utmost sincerity.
Kundapur is a constituency with a lot of rural areas, and Shetty expressed his satisfaction in responding to the pain and suffering of all sections of voters and fulfilling the aspirations of the people. He also thanked the loyal workers of the party, prominent personalities, and supporters.
Shetty requested the electorate to extend their support to the candidates contesting from the BJP in the upcoming elections.
Shetty’s announcement comes at a crucial time as the BJP is gearing up for the assembly elections in Karnataka, which are scheduled to take place on May 10.
