Bantwal: Body of missing schoolboy found in lake

The body of a missing schoolboy was found in a lake  in Kuppila, Kakhile village on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Azim (13), a class 8 student of a private English medium school in Mittabailu near BC Road.

According to reports, Azim was with his friends at his grandmother’s house in Panemangaluru on Saturday afternoon when he went missing.

Despite efforts by his family members to reach him through his mobile phone, they were unable to make contact. When the phone’s location was traced by the police, his clothes, shoes, and mobile phone were discovered at the top of the lake near Kallige village.

After conducting a search in the lake, authorities found the boy’s body late at night. The police retrieved the body from the water and transported it to the Bantwal Government Hospital mortuary for further investigation.

A case has been registered.
