Karnataka Polls: BJP’s first list announced

New Delhi: After much suspense, BJP announced the first list of candidates for the Karnataka Assembly Polls on Tuesday. As many as 189 candidates have been announced in the first list.
In the coastal districts, BJP has decided to field Harish Poonja from Belthangady, Umanath Kotian from Moodabidri, Dr. Y Bharath Shetty from Mangaluru City North, Vedavyas Kamath from Mangaluru South, Sathish Kumpala from Mangaluru Constituency, Rajesh Naik from Bantwal, Bhagirathi Murulya from Sullia, and Asha Thimmappa from Puttur.
Kiran Kumar Kodgi has been fielded from Kundapura, whereas Gurme Suresh Shetty will contest on BJP ticket from Kaup constituency. Yashpal Suvarna has been fielded for Udupi. MLA and Minister V Sunil Kumar will contest from Karkala.
Basavaraj Bommai to contest from Shiggaon constituency. Shashikala Jolle from Nippani. Ramesh Katti from Chikkodi. Minister Aravind Bellad to contest from Hubli-Dharwad West constituency.
B Sriramulu to contest from Ballari Rural. G Somashekar Reddy from Ballari City. Home Minister Araga Jnanendra has been fielded from Thirthahalli whereas Former CM B S Yediyurappa’s son B Y Vijayendra to contest from his father’s Shikaripura constituency. Health Minister K Sudhakar will contest from Chikkaballapura.
BJP has fielded R AShok for the Kanapura seat to contest against KPCC president DK Shivakumar.
