Dogs come in all shapes and sizes, but the Mexican breed of Chihuahuas is known for its tiny size. Among them all, a Chihuahua named Pearl has been recently certified as the tiniest in the whole world.
Guinness World Records (GWR) recently announced the recognition given to Pearl as the World’s Shortest Dog. As tweeted by GWR on April 10 “Say hello to the shortest dog in the world, Pearl.”
Pearl, a two-year-old female, was born on September 1, 2020, and, measures just 9.14 cm in height and 1.27 cm in length. Pearl is shorter than a TV remote and almost the same size as a US dollar bill.
Miracle Milly, another Chihuahua, previously held the record measuring 9.65 cm, until she passed away in 2020.
Interestingly, Pearl is said to be the daughter of Milly’s identical sister.
Pearl has recently introduced in the Lo Show Dei Record an Italian show by its owner Vanesa Semler and was carried onto the stage in an Easter egg-shaped seat, receiving applause. As said by Mrs. Semler, Pearl has a calm temperament for a chihuahua.
“We are blessed to have her. And to have this unique opportunity to break our own record and share with the world this amazing news,” as said by Mrs. Semler to GWR.
