Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader and party president D.K. Shivakumar has stated that politics is not a game of football but a game of chess.
Addressing the pressperson Shivakumar expressed his willingness to fight against the BJP, citing his past struggles against political figures like Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy.
His comment came a day after the BJP fielded senior party leader R Ashoka against him from Kanakapura Constituency.
However, Shivakumar remained confident that the Congress candidate would win due to support from various groups, including minorities and those who had settled in the constituency from Kanakapur.
Shivakumar also predicted that the Congress party would win 141 constituencies in the election, with the BJP winning only 65-70.
