Mangaluru: Three, including a medical student arrested for peddling ganja

Three persons, including a medical student, were arrested on charges of peddling ganja to college students and others. The arrests were made in a joint operation by the south station police and the CCB unit in Mangaluru.
The accused were identified as Prajwal Phinehas (26), currently residing in Gorigudda, Valencia, Dhruv Shetty (19) a Sakleshpur native residing in Kulshekar, Mangaluru, and Kumari Shivani (22) from Kulai, Mangaluru.
Police said that 5.400 kg of ganja, four mobile phones, and a tablet were confiscated from the accused.
According to police, Prajwal Phinehas had been purchasing ganja from Maharashtra and providing it to his friends, Dhruva Shetty and Shivani, for sale.
The police have registered a case at the Mangaluru South police station, and further investigations are ongoing.
Prajwal Phinehas had previously been booked for transporting MDMA and ganja in 2021 at the CEN police station, police added.
