Rowdy-Sheeter turned BJP aspirant, Fighter Ravi quits party after ticket denial

BM Mallikarjun, also known as Fighter Ravi, has resigned from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after not being given a ticket to contest from the Nagamangala constituency in Mandya district.
He submitted his resignation letter at the BJP state office in Malleswaram, Bengaluru on Saturday.

Fighter Ravi’s name has been a subject of debate due to his background as a rowdy sheeter, and his photo with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a visit to Mandya had added to the controversy. However, he gained sympathy from the people by working for them for a couple of years, which led him to join the BJP.

During the Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra in Nagamangala, BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel had also assured that Fighter Ravi’s victory was certain. However, the party’s decision to give the ticket to Sudha, the wife of former MLA and MP Shivarame Gowda, came as a surprise to many.

Fighter Ravi’s resignation comes after the disappointment of not being given a ticket despite the assurances made by the party leadership.
