K’taka polls: Mohiuddin Bava to contest from Mangaluru North constituency as JDS candidate

Former MLA Mohiuddin Bawa, who was denied a Congress ticket for the upcoming elections in the Mangaluru North constituency, has decided to join the Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) party.
Bawa expressed his disappointment with the Congress party, claiming that he was treated unfairly in the ticket distribution process.
The Congress ticket was fiercely contested by KPCC general secretary Inayat Ali and former MLA Mohiuddin Bawa. Eventually, the Congress high command chose to give the ticket to Ali, leaving Bawa feeling disillusioned and betrayed.
In a video message sent out after the ticket announcement, Bava made serious allegations against the Congress party, stating that he was used and then betrayed for monetary gain. He also claimed that his name had been deliberately omitted from the list of potential candidates, despite being a strong contender.
Following his disappointment with the Congress party, Bava announced his decision to join the JDS and contest the election as their candidate from the Mangaluru North constituency. It remains to be seen how this development will affect the political landscape in the region and the outcome of the upcoming election.
