BJP candidate Vedavyas Kamath has highlighted his achievements over the last five years, stating that he has brought over Rs. 4500 crores to the constituency and overseen development works worth Rs. 2000 crores.

Kamath made these remarks during a press conference at the Atal Seva Kendra in the city on Monday, where he also released a book titled ‘Abhivriddhi Patha’ on the progress made during his tenure.

Kamath emphasized that his focus has been on transformative development, and cited the implementation of the Jalsiri project as an example of his efforts. This project, aimed at providing a permanent solution to the problem of drinking water in the city, is currently in progress with a budget of Rs. 792 crore and the construction of over 40 overhead tanks.

Kamath also mentioned the Rs. 300 crore which aimed to solve the drainage problem.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kamath noted that over 70,000 workers from outside the city had left and the number of returnees had slowed down. He assured that all work would be completed within the next two years.

Kamath also announced that three government degree colleges in the constituency had received ‘A’ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), making it the first constituency to achieve this feat.

The release of the ‘Abhivriddhi Patha’ book was officiated by Minister and Legislative Council Member Kota Srinivasa Pujari, and few other BJP leaders were also present.
