Congress promises 75% reservation if voted to power in Karnataka

Congress leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that If the Congress party is elected to power in Karnataka, reservations will be increased from 50% to 75%.
He further stated that the Congress is committed to lifting the quota limit from 50% to 75% for all castes based on population. In the Indra Sawhney case, the Supreme Court capped reservations in India at 50%.
Siddaramaiah stated that the existing 50% restriction is not enforced by the Constitution and expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would approve a 75% cap if the state implements a quota strategy supported by a thorough socioeconomic report.
