Mangaluru: The city is facing a severe water crisis due to a substantial decline in the water level in Thumbe vented dam that irrigates the region. In response to the situation, the D.K. district administration is expected to implement water rationing rules with immediate effect.
An important meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the DK Deputy Commissioner to review the water shortage. According to sources, it was decided to supply water every two days from May 4 or 5, although the official order is yet to be released.
To ensure that the available water resources are utilized judiciously, separate guidelines are expected to be issued for all industries and businesses.
