Bantwal: Pedestrian killed after being hit by car

Punjalakatte: A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car at Vogga-Karinjacross in Bantwal taluk on Tuesday.

The deceased woman has been identified as Sesamma (58), a resident of Kadabettu Village.

At 7:50 AM, Sesamma was walking towards Vogga town from her home when a car heading towards Mangaluru knocked her down from behind. Sesamma who was seriously injured, was immediately rushed to the hospital but she could not be saved.

Based on a complaint registered by Kadabettu Umesh Gowda, Bantwal traffic police have registered a case against Preeti, a doctor who was driving the car.

Incidentally, Sesamma’s husband had recently died in a road accident.
