Bantwal: Robbers posing as customers fled after snatching a gold chain of a hotel owner here on May 16.
The incident occurred at an eatery in Pachhinadka run by Asha, a resident of Kallige Village.
According to the police complaint, two unidentified persons arrived at the eatery at around 5.20 AM on May 16. The pillion rider came to the eatery and asked for cigarettes. A while later, he returned again asking for more items.
Biding the opportune time, the person suddenly grabbed the gold ‘Karimani’ that Asha was wearing and fled on the bike. The stolen ‘Karimani’ weighed around 15 grams and is estimated to be worth Rs 75,000.
A case has been registered at the Bantwal Town police station.
