A Kundapura resident has complained of money being deducted from his PayTM wallet towards toll charges at Brahamarakotlu toll plaza here on May 23 when his car was parked outside his shop.
Ironically, the person identified as Muhammad Rafeeq, owner of Apsara Bag and Fancy at Shastri Circle was reading a report published in Udayavani (dated May 23) regarding a similar incident.
On May 16, Raghavendra Prabhu, a shop owner in Yadadi Matyadi village received a message that his vehicle passed through Brahamarakotlu toll plaza at BC Road and money was deducted from his FASTag wallet towards toll charges. The report mentioned that Prabhu contacted the officials who then reimbursed the deducted money and said that the incident was due to a technical error.
Later, Rafeeq contacted the toll plaza manager Naveen Shetty and complained about the wrongful deduction of money when his car had not passed through the area. He got a refund of his money in a while.
However, he questioned how such lapses are taking place repeatedly.
