Bengaluru: Ricky Rai, son of former-underworld don Muthappa Rai, was allegedly attacked by businessman Shrinivas Naidu and his accomplices near Kazi Hotel on Lavelli Road on Friday night.
Rai’s car driver, Somashekar, has filed an FIR against Naidu and his driver, and others at Cubbon Park police station.
Rai reportedly sustained a forehead injury and received treatment at a nearby hospital.
The incident is believed to be linked to an old grudge between the two parties. In October 2021, Ricky Rai and his supporters were accused of setting fire to a Range Rover car belonging to Shrinivas Naidu at Saptagiri Apartment in Sadashivnagar. There were differences between these friends-turned-foes over financial matters too, sources said.
The confrontation broke out when their paths crossed unexpectedly during a visit to the hotel on Friday, sources added.
Meanwhile, police said that Naidu has not filed any complaint, and an investigation will be conducted based on the complaint filed by Ricky Rai’s driver.
