Udupi: Senior chartered accountant U K Maiya passes away

Udupi: Senior Chartered Accountant and Auditor U. K. Maiya (U Krishnamurthy Maiya) passed away on May 28 due to a heart attack. He was 83.

Maiya, a resident of Ajjarakad, began his career as the first chartered accountant and auditor of the Udupi district. His guidance and mentorship have shaped the careers of numerous aspiring accountants.

With extensive experience as an auditor within the Manipal Group of Institutions, Maiya later ventured to open his own office in Udupi. Currently, he served as the auditor for the esteemed Paryaya Krishnapura Math.

Maiya is survived by his wife and three sons.
