Panaji: A man from Tumkur allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at a hotel in Goa, where he had gone on a vacation.

The deceased has been identified as Sahil Khan (26).

Sahil had reserved accommodation in Panaji’s hotel until May 30, when he arrived with a substantial sum of money borrowed from friends.
According to sources, he frequented the local casino in the evenings to indulge in gambling, returning to the hotel late at night. However, on May 30, when Sahil did not emerge by 11 am, the hotel employee, sensing something amiss, promptly notified the hotel manager.

Authorities swiftly contacted the Panaji police department to report the incident. Upon their arrival at the scene, the police noticed that the door to Sahil Khan’s room was ajar. Upon entering the room, they made the harrowing discovery of Sahil’s lifeless body suspended from a fan. No suicide note was found at the scene, and the motive behind the tragic act remains unknown.

Reports suggest that prior to taking his own life, Sahil had wagered a considerable amount of money at the casino. Investigators suspect that he may have borrowed substantial sums of money and traveled to Goa in hopes of reversing his financial situation through gambling. Tragically, it appears that Sahil’s luck did not turn around, leading him to resort to this extreme measure to escape the mounting debts. The Panaji police have registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
