Ullal: In yet another moral policing incident, three students were attacked and injured by a group of individuals for being with female students of different communities on Thursday evening.
The assault took place at Someshwar beach under the jurisdiction of Ullal police station, when the group of students were on a visit to the beach.
According to reports, a group of six students from Kerala, who were affiliated with a private educational institution, had come to Ullal for a vacation.
Noticing that they were from a different faith, the assailants allegedly followed them and attacked the group while they were at the beach. As a result, three students sustained injuries. They have been admitted to a private hospital in Deralakatte for medical treatment.
Locals told the police that the three female students who were accompanying them had managed to safely return.
Following the incident, Ullal Police have tightened security measures along the Someshwar seashore.
