MUDA employee found dead at workplace; suicide suspected

Mangaluru: In a shocking incident, an employee of the Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office was found dead at his workplace on Friday afternoon.
The deceased, identified as Keerthan Alape (36), a resident of Padil, was discovered hanging in the office’s store room.
Keerthan served as an SDA-level officer at the MUDA. According to preliminary information, Keerthan arrived at work as usual on Friday morning. But was found hanging in a store room at the office located at Urwastore in the afternoon.
The death is said to be a suicide, however, the motive behind his tragic decision remains unknown.
Urwa police visited the spot and have taken up the investigation.
