Chikkamagalur: Youth killed during Congress MLA’s felicitation ceremony

A young man was fatally stabbed during a felicitation ceremony organized by supporters of Tarikere Congress MLA Srinivas.

The  deceased has been identified as Varun.  The incident occurred when a heated argument erupted between Kabab Murthy and Varun over a song change in the orchestra.

Tensions escalated quickly, leading to a physical altercation between the two groups involved. As the orchestra performance concluded, Kabab Murthy allegedly brandished a dagger and attacked Varun, inflicting stab wounds to his stomach and side.

Varun was immediately taken to Shimoga for medical treatment but tragically succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, two others named Manju and Sanju sustained stab wounds to their hands and legs during the violent encounter.

A case has been registered.
