The state budget session is set to kick off on  July 3rd, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also holds the finance portfolio claiming that the budget will be presented on the 7th.

During a press conference on Monday, the Chief Minister revealed that the governor would address the joint session on the inaugural day of the budget session.

Following the governor’s speech, discussions would ensue, leading up to the budget presentation on Friday, July 7.  As of now, no preliminary meetings have taken place, making it difficult to ascertain the exact size of the budget.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah highlighted that the previous BJP government had presented a budget of 2.43 lakh before the elections.
