26-year-old toll booth employee thrashed to death over toll fee

In a horrific incident, one person was killed and another person was seriously injured after a group of men assaulted them.

The deceased has been identified as Pawan Kumar (26) and his injured as Manjunath (25), both toll booth employees.

The incident took place at the Seshagirihalli toll plaza in Ramanagara taluk On Sunday, June 4 night when four men were traveling from Mysuru to Bengaluru by car.

After reaching the toll plaza they refused to pay the toll and this led to an argument between them and the two toll workers.

The verbal fight led to a physical fight when Kumar attacked the people in the car, however, the locals intervened and ended the fight.

Later at around 12am, when Kumar stepped out for a dinner break, the group of men allegedly attacked him with hockey sticks and thrashed him to death.

The attacked Manjunath also, he has been admitted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment.

A case in this regard has been registered at Bidadi police station.
