2 seriously injured in bus-lorry collision on NH66

Haleangadi: A concrete mixer lorry collided with a private bus near Pavanje main junction on the National Highway 66, resulting in severe injuries to the bus driver and conductor. The incident occurred amidst heavy rains, which disrupted traffic in the area.

The injured individuals have been identified as Manjunath, the bus driver, and Manu, the conductor. Both have been rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru for medical treatment.

The bus was en route from Ballari to Mangaluru when the concrete mixer lorry, emerging from a nearby field, rammed into it.

Traffic was disrupted for a while until the affected vehicles were cleared from the road using a crane. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras.

The local traffic police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
