Ramanagara: Chaos erupts as buses face overcrowding issues on second day of Shakti Yojana

The implementation of the Shakti Yojana, aimed at providing free bus travel for women, witnessed a tumultuous second day as the buses struggled to accommodate the surge in passengers, resulting in a chaotic scene where passengers were left scrambling for buses.

Ramanagara witnessed a massive influx of passengers, with buses bound for Bangalore packed to capacity. The overwhelming number of passengers, including daily commuters and college students, faced great difficulty in boarding buses, leading to a situation where some resorted to standing on the bus steps during their journey.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) came under scrutiny for failing to arrange an adequate number of buses to meet the increased demand. In response to the overcrowding issues, passengers expressed their frustration by protesting against the officials.

Women passengers, in particular, voiced their discontent with the government, stating that merely allowing free travel was insufficient and demanded the provision of an adequate fleet of buses to cater to the growing demand.
