B’luru: Auto driver kills passenger for questioning excess fare; held

Police have arrested an auto driver for allegedly killing a passenger following an argument over the fare near the Yeshwanthpur Soap Factory in the limits of Subramanyanagar police station.
The deceased has been identified as Ahmad and the accused is identified as Ashwath.
The incident took place on Sunday night when the victim Ahmad and his brother Ayub hired an auto to reach their residence from their workplace. An argument broke out between them as the driver demanded double the amount of the fare.
In a fit of rage, Ashwath attacked the brothers with a weapon. Upon getting information, police rushed to the spot, collected the details about the accused, and arrested him.
