Kaup: Due to the effects of Cyclone Biparjoy, the coastal areas of Kaup, including Kaup Beach, Uchila, Moolooru, Polipu, Uliyaragoli Yard Beach, and Kaipunjal Beach, are experiencing high waves, causing concern among local residents.

Sea has swelled and the rocks surrounding the lighthouse are being battered by these powerful waves.

To ensure the safety of visitors, warning signboards and flexes have been placed, advising against entering the water. Ropes have been strategically placed near Kaup lighthouse, urging tourists to stay away from the area.

Visitors are being asked to observe the sea from behind these roped-off sections.

Kaup police personnel, Home Guards, and lifeguards are actively monitoring the beach to prevent any tourists from venturing into the hazardous waters. Precautionary measures have been implemented to avert any unfortunate incidents.

Additionally, tourists are being educated about the need to remain vigilant and exercise caution during this inclement weather.
