Rishab Shetty, renowned for his groundbreaking film “Kantara,” is gearing up for the production of its highly awaited sequel, “Kantara 2.” After the tremendous success of the low-budget Kannada movie, which shattered box office records, fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this cinematic revolution.
According to recent reports, “Kantara 2” is set to begin filming in the coming two months. The script has been finalized, and the talented team is ready to bring to life the next installment of one of 2022’s biggest hits.
Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, “Kantara 2” is reportedly scheduled to launch on August 27, 2023. Rishab Shetty, the creative force behind the project, has strategically chosen this timeframe as certain scenes in the film require the rainy season. The budget for the sequel will be higher than its predecessor, which achieved remarkable success despite its limited financial resources.
“Kantara 2” will serve as a prequel rather than a direct sequel to the original film. Rishab Shetty had earlier stated, “What you have seen is actually Part 2, and Part 1 will come next year. The idea came to my mind while I was shooting for Kantara. It is because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of researching further details. It’s too early to reveal specific information about the film.”
