A 25-year-old married woman from Hubballi left her eleven-month-old baby in the care of family members and disappeared, only to be found with her boyfriend in the vicinity of Siddakatte Police Station in Puttur. The incident occurred on June 13.

The woman had been involved in a relationship with a young man from the same town, who worked as a laborer on a farm in the Kodimbadi area.

It was later discovered that the woman had absconded with her lover, who had fled his job as a laborer in Kodimbadi. By utilizing tower location data, the police successfully located the couple in Siddakatte.

The woman had left her infant at home claiming that she needed to link her Aadhaar card. The family had believed her story, and let her go. However, she did not return.

Also, it is said that the woman lacked the funds for the journey. Fortunately for her, the government’s new scheme allowed for free travel on public buses. When the woman informed her lover about her financial issue regarding the trip to Puttur, he advised her to utilize the free bus ticket offered by the government.

A case has been registered.
