Two sisters who went missing after their parents refused to provide them with money to buy chocolates have been located in Dharmasthala.
The incident unfolded on June 16 when the 9- and 11-year-old sisters left their home with the intention of purchasing chocolates from a shop near Konanakunte. However, lacking any money, they approached the shop owner, who promptly contacted their father, informing him of the situation.
Filled with anger, the father left the house and headed to the shop. He also threatened the children that they will be punished once they return home.
To avoid going home and out of fear, the girls boarded a BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus and traveled directly to Majestic, where they could avail of free transportation on government buses. From there, they continued their journey by boarding a KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) bus bound for Dharmasthala.
Panicked by their sudden disappearance, the parents conducted an extensive search and eventually filed a complaint with the Konanakunte police. The authorities initiated a missing person case and, upon reviewing CCTV footage, discovered that the girls had boarded a BMTC bus.
Further investigation based on CCTV footage led the police to Dharmasthala, where the girls were spotted wandering near the shrine.
Thankfully, the police were able to retrieve the father’s mobile number from the girls and promptly contacted him. With the assistance of local law enforcement, the sisters were safely brought back to the city.
