Youth killed in road accident on his birthday

Gardady: In a heart-wrenching incident, a collision between a KSRTC bus and a motorcycle claimed a life of a 19-year-old student on his birthday.

The deceased has been identified as Deekshith of Periyadka in Kasargod. He was a second-year ITI student at SDM College in Venoor and resided at his grandfather’s house in Odeel.

The accident took place when Deekshith was returning from Vendor temple, where he had offered prayers on his birthday.

Reportedly, a KSRTC bus attempted to overtake a truck and collided head-on with Deekshith’s motorcycle.

Due to the impact of the accident, Deekshith suffered severe head injuries and was immediately rushed to the Beltangady government hospital. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, he passed away.

The Beltangady police have taken swift action and registered a case against the driver of the KSRTC bus involved in the accident. Investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision.
