Mangaluru: An armed robbery attempt onboard a Tirunalveli-bound train, between the stretch of Surathkal and Thokur railway tracks was fearlessly foiled by Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTE) on Friday, June 30.

Two persons flashing swords boarded train number 22629 when it halted at Thokur for crossing and began threatening passengers of the S7 coach while damaging train seats. A ruckus ensued as passengers fearing for their lives ran towards the general compartment.

However, TTEs Babu K, Srinivas Shetty, and Timmappa Gowda confronted the armed duo and managed to snatch the swords from their hands. The accused were later handed over to police.

The brave act of the TTEs has been lauded by the public.
