Tehsildar Ajit Rai, finds himself sinking deeper into trouble as investigators dig into his alleged accumulation of assets surpassing his known income. The ongoing scrutiny of documents seized by the police has revealed an ever-increasing amount of wealth associated with Rai.

During his interrogation by the Lokayukta Police, Ajit Rai was pressed to disclose further details regarding his investments in multiple locations. However, it appears that Rai is attempting to evade the direction of the investigation by providing confusing statements. His wealth, estimated to be worth crores of rupees, continues to surface across various properties and possessions.

The Lokayukta Police are now contemplating charging Ajit’s brother and friends, who are suspected of owning benami properties. Investigations have unveiled the acquisition of 150 acres of land in Devanahalli, Chikkaballapur, and Doddaballapur, in close proximity to the state capital, with an estimated value in the crores.

Additionally, it has come to light that Ajit Rai has reportedly provided valuable plots to his friends in the real estate business. The current focus of the investigation is on examining the laptop and mobile devices seized from Rai’s possession, a task entrusted to forensic experts from the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory).

Further discoveries have shed light on Rai’s opulent lifestyle, including the ownership of three luxury cars. The Lokayukta Police are prepared to unravel the mysteries concealed within the seized mobile phones and laptops.

During a search of Ajit Rai’s residence, a staggering 4.53 lakh household items were found in the attic. Among these were a home theater system, a smart TV, children’s toys, and various other items valued at over Rs. 4 lakh. Outside the house, branded shoes and slippers worth more than Rs. 70 thousand were discovered. The cost of setting up Rai’s children’s rooms alone amounted to Rs. 3.80 lakh. Furthermore, valuable items valued at Rs. 4.50 lakhs were found in the bedroom, Rs. 5.83 lakhs in the dining hall and kitchen, and Rs. 50 thousand in other areas.

The inventory of confiscated possessions includes 795 grams of gold and 7.520 kilograms of silver. In addition, 35 items such as gym equipment, laptops, and valuable electronic items were appraised at a cumulative worth of Rs. 1.26 lakhs. The most surprising finds were 27 watches and 16 mobile phones, all of which have been registered as evidence.

Considering the gravity of the case, the Lokayukta Police have decided to inform the Enforcement Directorate (ED) by writing a letter, potentially leading to the involvement of ED officials after a preliminary investigation. Some officials from the ED are discreetly gathering information about Ajit Rai’s alleged benami properties and illegal money transfers.

Notably, the search of Ajit Rai’s master bedroom revealed 16.250 liters of domestic and foreign liquor, valued at Rs. 3.19 lakhs. The cumulative worth of the household items discovered in the dining hall alone amounted to Rs. 21.81 lakhs. The seized gold items, including a strand weighing 100 grams, a chain weighing 183 grams, a long chain weighing 108 grams, as well as a pearl necklace, ring, and bracelet, were estimated to be worth Rs. 19.87 lakhs. It has also been revealed that Ajit Rai and his wife hold three bank accounts.
