Shivamogga: Rowdy sheeter shot at by cops for attack during arrest

Shivamogga: Police shot and injured the leg of a rowdy sheeter on Monday. The incident took place near Doddavandi forest area of the Taluk.
The injured rowdy sheeter has been identified as Saifullah Khan alias Saifu.
Police said, a team had been to arrest Saifu in relation with a IPC section 307 case filed at Jayanagar Police station. While being arrested, Saifu allegedly attacked the police and tried to flee. When the accused did not heed to the warning shot into the air, PSI Naveen fired a shot at the legs of the rowdy sheeter.
Police personnel, who was injured in the incident, and Saifu taken to McGann Hospital and later referred to a private hospital for medical treatment.
Police said that 16 cases have been registered against rowdy sheeter Saifu in Shivamogga’s Doddapete police station alone, and one case each in Tunganagar and Jayanagar police stations.
A case has been registered at the Kumsi police station regarding the incident.
