Chikkamagaluru: Chikkamagaluru district is currently experiencing heavy rainfall, prompting the district administration to issue a high alert for the next three days.

The weather department has forecasted rainfall ranging from 115 to 204 mm during this period. With concerns about potential flooding, authorities have urged the public and tourists to refrain from entering rivers.

In light of the circumstances, individuals have been advised to avoid halting near electric poles and trees, as these areas pose a higher risk.

Parents and school principals have received instructions to take precautionary measures and prevent children from venturing close to rivers, lakes, and low-lying regions.

Furthermore, the district administration has requested senior citizens to remain indoors and venture out only if necessary, accompanied by family members.

The district administration has emphasized the importance of adhering to their directives and guidance, urging the public to prioritize safety during this period of inclement weather.
