Thieves forcefully broke into a house in Shiroor, stealing gold ornaments with an estimated value of over Rs 3 lakh on Monday.

The victims of the robbery are both teachers residing near Shiroor Market. The incident took place while they were away at work, having returned to their college after the mid-day meal break.

The stolen items included 32 grams of gold chain, 10 grams of earrings, 100 grams of silver articles, and Rs 1000 rupees in cash.

The thieves also tried to break into another house nearby. However, upon hearing the commotion caused by the break-in, the housemates raised an alarm, prompting the thieves to hastily flee the scene.

This unfortunate incident comes in the wake of a similar robbery that occurred just a few days ago in the vicinity. During that incident, the door of a neighboring house was forcibly opened in the evening, resulting in the theft of gold jewelry worth more than 35 lakhs.
