A physical altercation unfolded between the G Krishnappa and Nanda Kumar factions of the Congress party during a review meeting held in Kadaba block. The meeting was convened to discuss the defeat of the party’s candidates in the Sullia assembly constituency.

On Friday, Congress leaders arrived at the meeting to gather opinions and perspectives from party members. However, supporters aligned with G Krishnappa expressed their objection to the presence of leaders who had been previously expelled from the party due to their involvement in anti-party activities. Tensions quickly escalated, leading to heated arguments and physical confrontations between the rival factions.

The situation deteriorated to the point where the police had to intervene to restore order. Pushing and jostling ensued as the two factions clashed, with allegations emerging that members of the Krishnappa faction had assaulted four individuals, including a woman from the Nanda Kumar faction.

A video capturing the violent brawl between the factions has since gone viral.
