CMO clarifies misinformation on mid-day meal workers’ dress code

In response to recent rumors circulating regarding a ban on bangles for mid-day meal workers, also known as Bisioota Karyakartas, the office of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has issued a clarification, asserting that the Congress government has not implemented any such rule. The statement aims to rectify the misleading information and shed light on the actual source of the directive.
According to the Chief Minister’s media team, the guidelines in question stem from the Pradhan Mantri Poshan scheme, spearheaded by the Narendra Modi-led BJP government.
This scheme emphasizes food safety and includes a provision that prohibits the wearing of nail polish or artificial nails due to the risk of foreign bodies compromising food hygiene. Additionally, it advises against wearing watches, rings, jewelry, and bangles during cooking, serving, and distribution, as they could potentially lead to contamination.
The intention behind the clarification is to dispel any misunderstanding or false propaganda suggesting that the State Government has imposed a ban on bangles for Bisiyoota workers.
