Katapady: Scuffle between labourers ends in murder

Kaup: A scuffle between two labourers ended in murder at Katapady on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Ganesh (50), a native of Orissa, who was engaged in construction work near Katapady Shirva Road. The other labourer fled from the spot.

According to sources, there was a dispute between the two over work issues, following which the two got into a fight. Ganesh was seriously injured in the incident and was rushed to a hospital by locals and co-workers, who succumbed to his injuries.

Udupi SP Hakay Akshay Machhindra, DySP Aravind Kulagujji, Kapu Police Circle Inspector K.C. Ppovaiah, and personnel from the Kaup police station visited the crime scene.
