Mangaluru: Police raid shops, seize 100 kg of drug laced chocolates

Based on credible information, Pandeshwar police on Wednesday, July 19 conducted raids at two shops in the city and seized 100 kg of drug-laced chocolates labeled as Bang chocolates.

The raid was conducted at a shop situated in Car Street and owned by a Manohar Shet while the second shop was located at Falnir and was run by Bechan Sonkar, hailing from Uttar Pradesh.

Police have filed cases against both Manohar Shet and Bechan Sonkar. Meanwhile, the confiscated chocolates have been sent to a forensic laboratory for a thorough examination to identify the specific type of narcotic drugs mixed in them. Further action will be initiated based on the findings of the forensic report.
