Malpe: Man gets 3 years imprisonment for indecent behaviour with woman during scuba diving training

Malpe: A local court found an accused guilty of behaving indecently with a woman during a scuba dive training on the Arabian Sea off the coast of Malpe.
Additional CJ and JMFC court in Udupi sentenced the accused, Tejpal Singh Rawat, from Uttarakhand, to 3 years in prison and a fine of Rs 13,000 for the crime.
The incident occurred on December 24, 2014. Rawat was alleged to have made indecent advances toward a woman who had come for scuba diving training. When the woman spurned his advances, he had threatened her not to reveal the matter to anyone.
Based on the complaint, Malpe police conducted an investigation and submitted a chargesheet against the accused in court. Rawat was also charged with destroying evidence, as the scuba diving equipment, waiver form, medical forms, and other crucial evidence related to the case were destroyed before the police could get their hands on them.
Assistant Public Prosecutor Mohini K. argued on behalf of the State.
