Belagavi: KarnatakaWomen and Child Development Minister, Laxmi Hebbalkar, issued a stern warning that criminal cases would be filed against anyone found demanding money for Gruha Lakshmi Scheme registration or benefits.
Addressing reporters in the city on Monday, Minister Hebbalkar revealed that the login IDs of three centers involved in illicitly receiving money during the registration process for the scheme have already been revoked. She emphasized that the government is taking proactive measures to prevent any misuse of the program.
The Minister further asserted that if any instances arise where beneficiaries are being coerced into making payments for registration under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, the login IDs and passwords of the offenders will be promptly withdrawn.
Additionally, she highlighted that strict action, including the initiation of legal proceedings, will be taken against those found violating the rules and regulations.
In a bid to curb such malpractices, Minister Hebbalkar urged the public to report such incidents to officials including the Tahsildars, PDOs (Panchayat Development Officers), Village Accountants, the DC as well as local police stations.
