Mangaluru: 222 driving licences recommended to be cancelled for traffic violations

Mangaluru: The city police are acting tough on drivers involved in rash and negligent driving. flouting traffic rules. It is learnt that the police have asked the RTO officials to cancel the driving licenses (DL) of 222 persons found to be flouting traffic rules.

As directed by the Road Safety Committee of the Supreme Court, driving licenses of motorists who violate traffic rules under the Indian Penal Code 1860 and the Indian Motor Vehicle Act-1988/2019 are sent to the Regional Transport Office every day.

Now, the Mangaluru police commissioner has recommended canceling the driving license of 222 persons, it is learnt.
