Team Udayavani, Aug 3, 2023, 7:33 PM IST

A brazen thief struck not one, but three shops in Olapete, Thokkotu on Wednesday, August 2. The act of theft was caught on the CCTV cameras installed at one of the shops.

The thief made his entry into Laxmi Canteen, owned by Mr. Harishchandra Shetty, Silverstar Enterprises steel shop owned by Mr. Harris, and SS Communications mobile phone shop owned by Mr. Mohan by removing tiles from the roofs. This allowed him access to the shops, where he stole cash and other valuables.

The police are actively suspecting the involvement of a migrant laborer of Nepalese origin. Notably, similar types of theft have been reported in several rural areas, including Thokottu and Kankanady, in recent days.
