Belthangady police officials have received a complaint from Kusumavathi (48), wife of Chandappa Gowda alleging that an unknown individual and accomplices attempted to defame her and violently assaulted her son.
Tragedy struck the Gowda family 11 years ago when their daughter, Sowjanya, was brutally raped and murdered. Ever since that day, Kusumavathi has been unyielding in her determination to bring the true culprits to justice.
Recently, upon receiving information about a gathering scheduled in Ujire on August 4th, Kusumavathi and her family sought justice with renewed hope. However, during the event, unidentified persons, aided by others, subjected them to both public humiliation and a physical attack.
A case has been registered.
